It will not sound better than your polk. However, with bigger speakers comes bigger sound. So they will definitely sound louder but not as refined as the poll rti series. I used to own them both.

Surrounds don't have to match the front 3 so they'll be fine. But realize the RP160M are large bookshelf speakers. Make sure you have room for them. Almost 17" tall and 13" deep and about 20lbs each

Love the 160m, I have them with the rp250c and rp150m, if you are building a home theater it's a great time with the low prices, get them before everyone sells out of them bc they are an old lineup
