receiving a fubar'd gf3 reminded me to stick with EVGA for all PSU needs.

Its been said many times before but its ridiculous we're sort of going in reverse on GPU power draw. The cards keep getting bigger and the draw higher. The total opposite of the direction we went...

Thinking of going 1000 instead of 850 with a new AMD build. I think 850 would do the 7900x with 6900x but the upgrade path probably will need more and that’s probably the reason to buy instead of...

Not bad psu but future proof? Don't know about that. If you look at the latest offerings from NV and AMD 850 is right when you need to be today for their top tier. Seems to me we are heading into...

not really. That's the recommended PSU for the 6900XT. Plus it gives me the ability to upgrade later on. The difference betwen 750 which would be the minimum and the 850 was $10 when I bought this on...

RIP Jonny Guru, you would've let us know who the OEM is for this PSU, if the caps're any good, etc.

I’m 38 and have been building Pc”s and servers since I was 14 . I’ve used a ton of different companies both for my personal and business. Thermal take is a solid reputable brand. Maybe I’m lucky...

I'm far from an expert on any of this, but in my opinion we're well into diminishing returns at this point. I didn't feel like there was a need to spend any more than the 850e, but others might...

Thank you, that helps. Was trying to decide this vs Asus thor 850 platinum and finally ordered RM850X as asus was out of stock. Is it worth considering the asus psu?

Both are 850w gold psus. RM850e is newer, but RM850x has "better" components (i.e. Japanese capacitors, different fan) and a 10 yr warranty vs 7 yr warranty on the e. I'm confident in Corsairs...

from my experience, never cheap out on a PSU. that's the one thing that's keeping your PC on and components from getting fried. 850w is more than enough to future-proof for the next few years too.

Just because a company slaps on a rating doesn’t make it a good psu. This one falls under the tier a rating, along with some asus and evga. Not saying you’re wrong but depending on the actual model,...

Currently going thru RMA for Corsair and it's honestly not that great. It's been 7 days since I contacted them. No response other then automated messages. Really disappointing.

I prefer the RM850x but my use case may be diff than yours. I have a 600w _2 8-pin Corsair cable that plugs directly into my Gigachad OC 4090
