I'm in Philly and never had an issue with D2 rusting except one fixed blade with a very mild coating. I do not know if I have carried a D2 blade for any length of time, as I so many to choose from...

Not a real deal, even though the price wants you to believe otherwise. Plus, d2 is not stainless steel, no matter how they try to label it as so. Way too many carbides, etc.
