Athens is awesome. Go to Plaka/Monastiraki while there. See the Parthenon. The food alone is mindbonglingly good and cheap (by American standards).

I was in Athens in early Jan this year. Amazing country, extremely kind and warm people. The city itself is cool and manageable to do in 2 days. Need to go back.
