Should work fine. They put out plenty of light, although it is directed down pretty well, so if you have a lot of width to light a single line of lights might not cut it. Not sure what your setup...

No they will not. The motion sensing is independent of other lights. No way to reprogram the motion sensing behavior afaik. The link feature is just the ability for the lights to plug into one...
