How does this compare to DC Villains? I was pleasantly surprised with DC Villains and it is probably the best Lego game my kids and I have played.

My experience with Lego games on different consoles is that it is more frustrating to play the Switch version because of low framerate, especially in co-op mode. So, unless portability is important...

Nope. Not unless they got a real obsession with any of the new characters. There's already like 380 or so characters to pick from so I bet they'll be fine without.

I can’t speak about switch prices but on Steam and Xbox most Lego titles eventually go on sale for 5 to 10 dollars. Even at 18 this is a good deal for the amount of content. If you are a 100%-er...

Thanks OP. Just bought it for my kids. My youngest loves playing Lego Star Wars on my RetroPie but gets upset when there are issue with the emulator. This fixes the problem 👍

Apparently not, it's just add'l characters for "Free Play" mode... I think I'll pass on that, but this is a killer deal for the base game!
