Do I also have to provide you a definition of “proper,” now? How about we just start with the word “recess:” There’s a recess in the back of the box, bro. It allows the outlet to rest...

There is no obligation of NRTL tested stuff for private use hence no legal reason to deny coverage. That is if they can get to that level of detail. And there are many more electrical safety issues...

I searched for QINLIANF but it returned 9 results which I couldn't make heads or tails of. Then I searched for the model #, HR-519D, and that did narrow it down. The listings show that this model is...

you didn't need to hurry - it's been bobbing between $12 and $16 for the last six months.

Thanks, what did you search for the company name?

I don't disagree with you, however, the plate covers are fit very tight and are made of very fire-resistant plastic. I'd prefer to use a plate cover AND the multi-outlet, if that's an option. I...

So your way of making a statement about the salary of a CEO is to shill for a potentially dangerous, no-name surge protector on an online forum about shopping? Touch grass.

Yes, but they don't have the recessed back. I posted this because it has 4 usb ports, surge protected 5 outlets, the important center mounting screw AND the recessed back that allows it to fit flush...

Good luck explaining that to your insurance company when the house burns down. I mean use your exact "logic", hey brah, it is better to buy non UL listed. Betcha they cut you a check that day.

Do you know the meaning of the word “pedantic?” I saw the pic of the item and wasn’t the least bit confused. Go find something else to nitpick about.

I know many of these wall outlet/charger posts have become common on SD as of late, but I bought this one here and love the fact that it is one of the few (esp at this price) that has a recessed...

Was going to post this. I would be very skeptical about purchasing charging plugs or power plugs that not were properly UL certified. Being cheap does not help when the device starts a fire in...

Ordered last month. Works great. Unscrew the outlet plate and removed, then plug this in and screw in with long screw provided. It sits flush and way nicer than the extension cord previously used.

There’s too much fuss in this thread about UL. This is etl certified. And is a Well known certification. ETL does not create their own standards for certification, but only makes sure that products...

Thanks, not the case this time though. I refinished my whole basement with my dad and we did all the electrical ourselves, no secret switches. It's a weird short where if I plug anything into it...

I've had one for several months now. One side holds a smart plug that runs the bathroom heater every day. The USB runs the security camera 24-7. And I run the vacuum cleaner and carpet shampooer off...

Is it even smart buying an outlet that's not UL listed?

This is a silly axe to grind and my only takeaway is you are weird.

Of course not. But it’s got a recessed back and a screw or whatever. So who cares about safety?

A pessimist is a well-informed optimist. I know a bit about NRTL system, unlike most people who preach UL without having any idea of what they actually are...

You say that as if having an annoying always-on light in my room when I want to sleep is a automatic plus. Will pay extra for no night light.

Well, the ones that aren't flush fitting, just don't look like a custom fit. The recessed back like this one in the OP, fits over your existing (standard, non-Decora) outlet cover and still looks...

I put “recessed” in the title because this style of outlet is unique to most other multi outlets in that the rear of the outlet box is “recessed.” That is a proper use of the word - “recessed.” I...

I bet you believe everything the government tells you as well. UL is not the be all, end all that you think they are.

Ordered one just to try it, like the idea of the screw, so it cannot be pulled out.

I don't understand the title of this listing. Recessed doesn't mean flush, and this thing is neither. It protrudes from the wall, as all outlet add-ons do. Recessed means it sits deeper than the...
