Yes, it can do 7.2.4 with an amp. I have not tried 3800 but tried 3700 and this one. I found onkyo better than 3700 and dirac much superior to denon audessy.

Yes, it can do 11.2 or 9.2.2. You will need a 2 channel amp. With just receiver, it can do 9.2. If you are going to do 11.2, you should look for an amp anyway as the speakers will not be adequately...

9.2 in whatever format you want (9.2, 7.2.2, 5.2.4 without pre-outs) Up to 11.2 processing if you use pre-outs; so in your case I believe the best you could get is 9.2.2 with additional hardware.
