How do you define refurb? Refurbs are used products, the refurbisher goes thru the device cleaning, making sure everything works, if something doesn’t they’d replace the part with one that does....

No. RAM on this is 100% soldered. A few years back they had one free RAM slot. That stopped with this version or the previous. I forget.

Not a concern for the long battery life expected out of this thin and light. Technology still does not allow for operating bright display for battery long durations.

Just as a comparison this model on Woot ( 17Z90Q-K.ADC9U1 ) vs Costco ( 17Z90Q-K.AAC7U1 ) - Same price of $999.99 but models are not exactly the same as the WOOT version has 1TB SSD and 32GB RAM...

Both are true. Its not great in direct sunlight (dark/cheap) but under typical office conditions the screen is great (resolution + anti-reflective coating).
