I've used mine to cut the tops off some swollen wooden fence posts and to remove some flood damaged wood. There were probably better tools for those jobs, but I had a recip saw at the time and it...

Oh, and the reciprocating saw is awesome for peeling back turf, cutting out root balls, assisting in post holes, or any other holes for that matter. Makes quick work of any roots in the way. Get a 9...

You've obviously never worked on automobiles or on houses in any real capacity. Recip saws are very useful... and you can cut an exhaust much quicker, much more efficiently, ang generally more...

Cutting off a rusty muffler.

Hmm, yea I can imagine that might not work out too well with a reciprocating saw. I bet an angle grinder would be much better but positioning yourself under the car in a safe way might be challenging

Thirded. I quite often end up preferring the recip for small branches, roots, and even a quick PVC cut where precision is not required.

I never said that reciprocating saws are not useful and contrary to what you think I've used a reciprocating saw many times. I was replying to someone that said that their experience with using a...

The Gen2 stuff was just about the same size as the Rigid when I was shopping around, and the same price at the time as well (178 for the rolling box, large box, small box, and a tray). I am also a...

Great for trimming the tree branches before mowing season. Very useful for taking out roots and small tree stumps under ground, after the chainsaw takes above.

Page says 159.00 but in cart it shows up as 199.00, ship to home. I called and they adjusted the price so I got it for 159+tax delivered.

I've used mine a lot! Especially around the yard and cutting smaller pieces of wood. Much better than going two handed with a bigger sawzall.

This would be a decent buy for someone just starting out. The Ryobi link system is a bit underwhelming for their mobile cases, I expected better for the (retail) price. Adding onto this storage kit...

IME reciprocating saws are of little or no use to home users. I'd love to hear different. I bought one years ago for one job and it didn't do that very well. Haven't used it since.

Ridgid most likely cheaper and believe a bit bigger than the toughsystem boxes... OR gen1 for sure. I regret buying into gen1 toughsystem boxes, gen2 is a lot better. Top pick for me is the...

What was that one job you bought it for? A reciprocating saw is for things like demolition or cutting off a tree branch. It isn't used for accuracy

In fact i'd go a step further and say straight out that my recip saws have seen more use than literally every other saw i own -- combined. That's both automotive and household/yard applications.....

Have used mine more than any other tool. Cutting up branches to chopping up bed frames and items too large to fit in trash cans.
