got this when it was $15, it's pretty good but it tastes salty to me. if you're using it in a recipe you may want to omit salt from the recipe

You assume people who are not vegetarians don't eat meat replacement products for lean protein sources to add to meat diet. The problem is that they try to imitate meat taste by adding artificial...

Unless you really need this to last 25 years for emergency storage, just buy TVP (textured vegetable protein) for $2-3 lb and some beef-flavored bouillon cubes for under a buck. It's less than half...

Great tip, but where are you getting TVP for $2-3 lb?
Tried it 2 days ago. Trying to cut back on red meat. By itself, mehhhhhh. Mixed with nachos with cheese, tacos, or rice and hot sauce it was suprisingly good. The nachos I made with it had the 'meat'...

Most vegetarians aren’t vegetarian because they dislike meat… they just have moral or religious issues with eating actual meat. Surely this doesn’t have to be explained on every fake meat post?

$5.50 for 1lb seems high for flavored veggies. Why not sell us the beef flavor and I'll add it to my $1.50/lb veggies!

My guess would be to preserve it longer. Too bad.. I can't handle the salt but like the idea of the product.

I don't understand why folks who clearly have no interest in meat substitutes come into a thread for a meat substitute product and start trash talking vegetarians.... Get a life

I use it all the time mixed about 60/40 with ground beef for tacos, burritos, sloppy joes & stuff like that.

I like my veggie meat to taste like horse. No sale.

I have religious issues with pork, I don’t try to make my beef taste like that. Hindus have been vegetarian for centuries without chasing the taste of beef

Why not just make it taste like vegetables?

Why do vegetarians still want meat?

Why do they add so much sodium to a product most people are going to use in a recipe?
Post #162496789 added 03-23-2023 9:49 PM by Cookieless in Deal Talk
The logic behind this is bizarre and not factual. There is absolutely a population of people who follow Hinduism eating pork and chicken. Better yet, a lot of the vegetarian population that follow...
