Yes. but a smart Lutron will cost more than a dumb Lutron. Kasa does not make dumb dimmers, so there's no comparison.

I think he meant compared to a normal dimmer. And yes he's right. I didn't need smart dimmers everywhere but they cost the same, if not less than a standard dimmer. I have a bunch of Kasa stuff.

My bet is one too many people bought them before checking for a neutral wire. Bought 4 used and all were perfect, except one that was missing the terrible factory wire nuts.

There is a slight, noticable hum, however it's not distracting and it hasn't prevented me from adding additional Kasa switches. It's a good product.

I would advise you to skip those. I purchasd five "used" Kasa switches from Amazon warehouse, and every one was defective.

I have these switches in 1,2,3, and 4 gang boxes and have no problem affixing the wall plates. I use Lutron's "Claro" line of screwless wall plates. I've also installed them with steel Mulberry...
