They're designed to come out so they can be washed. I would not use them without washing them when you buy them. Pretty gross to just use it without washing it first. 🤮

i have 3 for my 5yr old thats used in rotation daily and in dishwasher upper rack several times a week and paint is still fine. one of them is a bit leaky when side ways but that one has been dropped...

Sometimes the rubber part of the straw needs to be pulled up to tighten the seal and it should help.

Yup, my kid has 2 and both peeled after putting them in the dishwasher. I ended up using acetone to remove all the paint so it's just the stainless steel.

My son has had the Baby Yoda one for a while and the paint is dinged up, but not terribly. However, these are high quality water (albeit small-ish) bottles. I live in year-round hot and these work...
