There is a pin that needs to disabled so power is correctly supplied to the drive when you shuck it. Depends on the PC or NAS that you shuck to.

In my opinion hard drive warranties are worthless. If it stops working you've already lost your data (if you didn't back up) and they'll just send you a refurb.

Awesome, missed these back on BF as I only got 1 before the sale ended. I tried the 18TB Pro's, but they have an incredibly annoying high-pitched noise I couldn't stand even in my fractal case....

All spinning drives will make sounds. In my experience, red pro's arent any more noisy over golds/whites/seagates.

A lot of people use these in a NAS or DAS. They are not known for keeping the noise in check, you will hear HDDs chunking along.
