Yeah, I just received mine in a plastic bag with a brown box inside containing the HDD with the plastic spacers to suspend the drive. Pretty disappointing. Scanning the drive as I type this.

But the failure rate is generally under 2%, and sometimes under 1%, so it's not a big concern. It's unlikely you will need to replace the drive at all. Especially if you have clean power and an UPS.
