Same experience here. I kept them for charging for an hour and struggled with pairing only read the manual afterwards. Not sure what the purpose of that film.

Had the issue and struggled too, in my case I didn’t realize the plastic sticker between the charging contact points.. check that isn’t the case.. peeled it off and paired fine for me
