USB 2.0 is only 480 mbps so it would be a limiting factor since that translates to about 50 MBps after overhead.

I didn't know i'm just a typical dumb consumer user. I order from amazon or best buy, if good enough for 4k video and the price is good, i buy.

USB2 vs USB3 isn't really the limiting factor. UHS-I sdxc standard only supports up to 104 MB/s on the sd interface. To get higher people were supposed to upgrade to UHS-II which has extra data...

I already have too many microSD cards stockpiled from years past, but the new USB reader and the $5 coupon for random Best Buy members made me pull the trigger. I don't see how else I would spend $5...

Curious to know when did Amazon start selling these microSD cards bundled w/ the USB card reader? I avoided buying the Amazon's adapter-less microSD cards after Xmas in favor of Best Buy's offerings...

Here is one reviewer's comments about the reader. Nothing too scientific/technical, just their own basic R/W tests using the Samsung reader vs other means. Actually parallels my own testing months...

I bought it from both Amazon and Bestbuy. Tested it using a 3rd party software by filling small files until it's full. The last 20GB (out of 238GB) cann't be used. This happened on both cards. For...

$18.12 after tax and best buy reward $5 which came in email for unknown reason. Bought $13 earbuds a few years ago. The reader is not usb 3.x, i assume. I'd rather pay $5-8 for 3.0 reader from ebay.
