What I did was brickseek'd around for lowest price around me ($699). I purchased it full price online ($1299) and returned it to that specific walmart. 1 hour later, I purchased it at $699.

For the purposes you listed, this is way too powerful. You can easily get a brand new $600-700 laptop to do what you need. The power this laptop brings is going to be underused for your needs.
