The user madmax718 had, in a earlier post quoted below, forgotten that the Quick Charge standard supported voltages other than 5V for some time. Quick Charge had supported 9V and 12V modes as...

In fact, I've seen plenty of knock-off chargers go beyond relevant USB-A Quick Charge standards and even offer Power Delivery standards over USB-A. This primarily presents a problem when you consider...

Correction: all USB-C to USB-C cables are intended to support 3A. As you noted, this would then at the maximum Power Delivery voltage rating of 20V deliver 60W of power (which is why so many USB-C to...

I am curious if these will work for Android Auto? I did order them so I will find out. Off topic but maybe someone who clicks on this thread has experience with this. Has anyone here tried a...

I guess it's a theoretical power limit since the construction is similar to a USB C cable that is rated to 60W. But I doubt USB A can get that much. I think QC 3.0 can get 36W from USB A.
Post #164026355 added 06-12-2023 11:32 AM by sarcasmogratis in Deal Talk
This is not accurate: Type A USB chargers can do some of the advanced charging standards like QC and go above 5v I don't think I've seen type-a do 60w though, so you're right to be a bit...

strange, how does a USB A which cant do power negotiation, deliver higher than 5V? At its max output listed at 5A, at 5V it should be only 25w, not 60w.
