If you end up rendering, might want a beefier laptop instead of a slim one. When you push the slim ones, they start getting hot and end up throttling. A gaming marketed laptop would be better....

The offer two different drivers for newer cards now, Nvidia studio and Gaming. I just checked for the 3050ti, and this card does have a studio driver available on the Nvidia site.

I had that touchpad issue with the 7610 (11th-gen i7 version). Nice machine overall, though the screen at only 300 nits and 60hz was definitely not a strong point, no matter how many pixels.
