a crescent adustible wrench will often round off nuts. 12 point has never caused me any problems. Hypothetically, if a nut or bolt head were already somewhat rounded, in that case 6 point would...

I would remove the “not like they used to be“ portion. Like “who” used to be? See where I’m going?

Are they reversible, or do you have to turn them over?

Probably dummies using the wrong size. Always user error blamed on the manufacturer.

Bought these a few weeks ago, 2 were broken before I even used them and one broke while using. I'm sure others have had a good experience with these but I'm not impressed myself.

I agree to disagree. And I've never seen 6 point ratcheting box wrenches anyway.

If it ratchets anyway, 12 point doesnt matter much. If you dont have an angle you like you can ratchet a single tick and then you have a different 6 points.

I'll tell you why: There is a good reason for using a ratcheting wrench like these. It's because the fastener is in a hard to reach location, with limited clearance. So instead of putting the wrench...

I have been wrenching 28 years and I personally have yet to rounded a nut using 12 points hand tools. But I sure have seen rounded nuts or bolt heads before and 12 points sure don't help. Also...

So for the hassle free exchange do I just take the broken wrench into Lowes? They don't have the individual wrenches to give me so I'm not clear what to expect. When I asked once they told me to call...

Nice deal. I needed to replace most of my wrenches since most of them have gone missing over time.

Hard to put this in words. Any experience in the distance between the clicks on gearwrench? For example in a tight space do you have to swing the wrench 2mm or 10mm for the next click?

If these were that atrocious in general, they would not have 5 stars on lowes. Looks like some terrible luck on your end. Or Lowes faked. their reviews.

I have used this set for roughly 6 years now, automotive work, no issues at all. I've used long breaker bars on them, smacked them with hammers and rubber mallets, they hold up. The ratcheting part...
