Agreed. If someone is having ankle issues it probably has more to do with bike fit, shoe fit or cleat position. Basically user error. The parts might be cheap but you need to dial it in.

These are SPD-SL which are very different than SPD. Typically SPD and Crank Brothers Egg Beater cleats/pedals are more MTB and Gravel specific because you do want more float (side to side movement)....
