If you don't want to have it hooked up into a PC and you still want to get some sort of effects, you can buy the Lekato (or any other brand) multi effect pedal ($37 in Amazon). It has effects and in...

↵ i mean you don't even need a pc. just play without plugging it in to anything. 0$ total . if you're gonna skimp that much why not go all the way. nothing says midlife crisis like a nobrand...

$25 Pyle audio mixer. Yes qq Pyle is trash. But if you want to cheaply play with headphones and the option to output to PC/Mac for Rocksmith, it works fine. I got my midlife crisis indio bass and...

he specifically asked for connecting to a mac book. so yes. i mean i guess you can use built in speakers or crappy earbuds but i wouldn't recommend it. it's nice to actually hear and enjoy what...

Yes I would not hesitate at all. I have quite a few of these Indio's but they will come with issues. This is not unusual with any entry-level guitar. Fret ends have been sharp on most every Indio I...

Seems to be dead - Out of Stock - rip. Tried to use code BIG30 on white one, (higher priced) but doesn't work on that one.

Actually all you really need is an Audio Interface as Garage Band would be more than sufficient for the effects. I would recommend trying to find either a presonus or focusrite on your local...

You really think he needs all that as a midlife starter on guitar? I don't know but he probably is going to do Rocksmith or one of the online or youtube lesson sites. He has enough off the bat just...

I would personally recommend -2 channel audio interface. Can get by with 1 but 2 isn't much more money and useful if you ever want to record vocals or direct+ mic combos. 100-200$ -audio...

If I buy this as a mid-life crisis starter guitar, what else would I need to play or potentially hook up to a Macbook?

Yes, great starter guitar. Got a base model indio tele a little while ago. No issues with it. Great guitar for the price and this model is a step-up so is more than enough for a starter electric.

every indio i tried had awful fret work and pretty bad fit finish (glue, gaps, blemishes) . the headstock is also hideous. probably still worth it with the upgraded hardware if you are able to fix...

I think, yes. This is a step up from their basic model, so there will be less frustration. However, you need to think about amplification. If you don't want to go through the whole ordeal of...
