I have that B&D trimmer, too. It was great, until a few years after I owned it, and it wouldn’t feed. The mechanism that allows it to feed cannot be fully purchased online. Just certain parts of it....

therein lies the secret, once you buy into this ecosystem you have plenty of juice changing out batteries. Maybe why my tools last so long, I have two of each, blower, trimmer and mower.

Personally, I do not like the Ego string trimmer. It is TOO long TOO heavy, TOO unbalanced, and it has no provision to use it as an edger. Personally, I prefer the Black and Decker 20 Volt string...

That has not been my experience on my 1/3 acre. Trim and edge around the fence, driveway, sidewalk and more, and blow the stuff away easily with half a charge left.

It's as heavy as a comparable gas trimmer. So yes, it will probably be a bit much for 82yo.

I prefer the multi tool with the weed eater head. That way you can add the edger, pole saw, tiller, etc.

Actually, I had to look it up. Apparently the 1502 comes with a 2.5ah battery and the 1503 comes with a 4ah battery.
