Tha'ts a traditional (i.e. extremely old) style lid. Used the same way as any other lid, just can't see through it.

That's not true. I do 80% of my cooking in a wok over a portable induction burner. Works great. Just have to preheat the wok before putting the food in. Even on an electric burner, I prefer a wok...
