It's not really comparable price wise. I can get a brand new 5700X for $155. If you're building brand new, don't look at AM4 unless you're on a tight budget. Building a 5600/5500 is fine for a budget...

I built two computers with this one because of the cooler and graphics because I am running servers and VMware with them. Unfortunately, it has half the L3 cache, but the thermals and cost savings...

I got the 5700X last month. It still requires a hefty cooler like the Thermalright Assassin because it doesn't come with a cooler. The cooler doesn't need to be as robust as the 5800X processor...

Not everyone is building a PC for overclocking or gaming. For instance, I haven't had a need to overclock in 15+ years.... I just buy a better CPU if I want more performance since I'm far better off...
