Why would it be 5-10% less powerful? The only real differences are the 2% increase in burst and the higher default TDP.

Depends entirely on the game or software you are using. DDR5 is cheap these days, so it makes no sense to build a DDR4 system now, especially when youll never be able to use that DDR4 in a future...

The only benefit a 5700x would have is that it’s easier to cool at 65W. Some older AM4 boards may have poor thermals and would pair better or if you have a cheap AM4 cooler already you wont need to...

You'd be a fool to build a new AM4 rig now. LGA1700 has dirt cheap motherboards, DDR5 prices have come way down, and Intel's lower cost CPUs caused AMD to drop prices, both brands have cheap new CPUs.

Well it would still be a good viable new pc path because ddr5 is still too expensive and ddr4 is crazy cheap. So for a more budget build AM4 is far from dead

5700G is pci express gen 3 only so if that’s not a problem for you then sure. The iGPU comes in handy when you get a GPU later
