Like someone said above, red is linear (smooth), brown is tactile (bump with no click), and blue is clicky (bump with click).

Basically:
Red=Linear - The keystroke is consistent and smooth.
Brown=Tactile - A bump in the middle of travel, usually around the actuation point.
Blue=Clicky - A bump in the middle of travel...

Mine didn't come with a dongle either. Connected it to my work laptop and iPhone via Bluetooth. Works great on both and have no complaints.
