That's up to you. The chargers are the same. One just has the wifi. The app isn't the greatest... it's a bit finicky. But once you get it connected, it's kinda neat to be able to monitor the charging...

You add it to your network like any other WiFi device. IIRC, there were set up prompts as you go thru the App registration process.

If you don’t care about the “smart” WiFi stuff on the other model, yes, keep the red one. It’s the same charger essentially, just without the WiFi.

Over-voltage is one way to desulfate a battery which is a setting on some smart chargers. What's the amps on your charger and have you tried it on other batteries? Not sure if high amps will work...

I got the SP1298 red model as well. Autozone scanned the red model barcode and it showed up as an alternate part number for the SC1599. Should I keep the red model?

Same here.. great idea holding onto the old metal ones from the 70's.. i tried to disulfate an old battery with it save it.. looking at the little bubbles but lol.. didn't do much.
