Putting the ackronim/prefix/postfix, "pro" in front of or behind every word(s) now, does not make a professional anything! This is where legal should step in to intervene. I am a professional,...

Always interesting to read comments from slickdeals bike people vs. slickdeals non-bike people.

Harbor freight does not sell any torque wrenches that would be suitable for use on a bike. I've checked.

+-4% in the forward direction is pretty standard for torque wrenches. Even for the big buck ones. For a bike that is more than adequate.

non-drive side pedal has left hand threads. One side of the bottom bracket, I forget which, is also left hand threads. The nut that holds a cassette body together also has left hand threads. ...

That tool won't work for bicycles. The low end range of 3.7 is barely low enough. Torque wrenches are not very accurate at their extremes. For carbon parts being accurate on the low end is very...

I've had this for about 6 months and have been happy with it. I'm sure it isn't the most accurate torque wrench on the market, but as someone with a long history of destroying hardware by...

Yup. I've gotten into the habit of squeezing the wrench and crank arm to avoid that. With that said I just use a 15 dollar HF torque wrench. Add the sockets on and it's probably the same or less...

Came here to say this. T-handle wrenches are most convenient and a bit more rugged. The only reverse thread ive run into is a peddle which this torque wrench does not fit.

I always forget this. Overtighten the left pedal, remember it's reverse thread, then slam my body into the bike frame when it breaks free.

I actually posted that same tool above. Looks like a very cool driver, not only for bikes but also small fasteners.

My general rule of thumb used to be to make bars, stems, levers, seat post clamps, etc. tight enough that it won't move under normal operation but will twist in the event of a crash. Basically, snug...

A lot of it is going to come down to mechanical aptitude. Where as a newbie might crack a carbon handlebar or strip out a stem, a person with many years of experience can learn to approximate torque...

That seems possible I guess, but highly unlikely. Think of all the Walmart bikes you've had in your lifetime where not a single pedal failed from undertightening. Those were done by a low-compensated...
