If you're under warranty, you can file a claim with Logitech and they'll just send you a brand new replacement mouse. Logitech has some of the best customer service I've dealt with in the past decade.

I charge mine maybe once a week of heavy use. And the micro USB makes no difference as their cable makes it very secure

That's a great price. I've done a bit of research and the general consensus is that the Gen 2 is not worth the price difference.
