yeah, that's how nearly all movies with CGI were up to 2019 or so. For a while, the only true 4k movies were scans of older movies shot on film without CGI. real or fake 4k .com was a great...

The new remastered 2021 blu ray apparently uses the same DNR that these do and the same scans without the upscaling....

Part of the problem is that the original movies were mastered digitally in 2K resolution. There's no "better scans" available because they weren't mastered on film.

This 4K release is really really mediocre. They did a pretty awful job upscaling. Be prepared for an inevitable re-release with better scans.

I’ve read the recent remastered Blu Rays are superior to this 4k release. The 4k release uses excessive DNR and isn’t true 4k (upscaled 2K). I’m sticking with the Blu Ray set.

I just received this. The Extended movies each have two blu-rays each to be able play each movies with all of that data. The Theatrical movies are just one blu-ray...ha ha

While most movie studios only claimed "may not be valid after" on the dates listed on digital codes. Warner Bros did a BS move (because they're awful now) in actively pursuing to invalidate codes...

If you buy, make sure to test all 4K discs early on. I have one of these sets with the manufacturing defect on one of the 4K discs that makes parts of the movie unplayable.

These are good quality 2k scans upscaled. This link in german compares the blu ray to the uhd. Looks like it desaturates a bit, but to me UHD looks better and the detail is better. ...
