Thanks for this ddr5 specific info. This makes it absolutely sh*tshow on Asus's part to not put a 16GB stick instead of 2 8GBs when one slot is soldered.

You can add one 32GB RAM stick to this laptop for a total of 40GB. Each DDR5 module runs in dual channel. DDR5 moved the controller to the Ram module and each module runs with 2 x 32bit channels....

I think we will have to wait for someone to try it. The I9 version says 16 per slot. This version says 8 onboard and 8 in a slot. Makes me think you can also put 16 in the slot making the max 24gb...
