It's actually 5 Hp peak. I bought one a couple of days a go. I add a few electrical pipe and use it to vacuum gutters. Beats climbing up the roof.

16 gal is also twice the space. If you do not have a lot of space or if you plan to also use a separator, 8 gal might be enough. I’m seriously considering this one

I do not recommend regular shop vac for ash. If you decide to go that route, I used to use a bag plus a canister filter. You'll still get ash blowing out of the exhaust but it'll be bearable.
