You are correct. One bulb, one flower. There are some new varieties that may break the rule, but traditional tulips are one flower only.

Thanks! Good to know that seeds are not the only things from which plants can grow. My bulb went off. So I'm guessing one bulb will give only one tulip (like 1:1 ratio of bulb to tulip)

Oddly enough, the deer don't bother the flowers in front of my house. I even had sunflowers planted out there last season. Maybe they have enough other food in my rural, wooded neighborhood. 🌲🦌🌲🌲

We’re in NC. I love tulips but given up on planting them. Squirrels dig out the bulbs, then whatever survives blooms for like a day before the first heavy rain breaks all the flowers or deer eat...

Whatever is left from the squirrel will be taken care of the deer when they bloom, unless prtotected.

If you can dig into the ground you can still plant these. That being said if you can’t dig then you can force these to bloom indoors then plant out next yr.

i got a bunch of bulbs last year that went on sale. all of them failed to seed and were planted in different sections of garden. Bulbs have a limited shelf life and who knows how old these are.
