The exact same ones are sold by tjmax/burlington for $4. The difference with cuisinart compared to generic brands, is that the silicone tips are more rubbery, instead of thin and brittle.

How does the mechanism to keep them retracted hold up? That’s the only issue I ever have with tongs where they end up staying open inside the drawer and preventing it from opening.
