You’re right, they do tear easily especially at the toe, which is why I had to invest in some adhesive toe protector inserts I found on Amazon to make shoes with these soft mesh toes last long enough...

The Kayano's are better value at a higher price. The GT-1000's are the entry level stability shoe. The bottoms run out very fast compared to the higher end models.
