If you want a 'new' ebony burst, it's a decent deal seeing they are now looking for over $3K on these. These are really nice guitars.
Personally, I'd check the used market because they are better...

Your comparison is extreme, but I did have a Trad Pro V when they were still $2500 retail and used under 2k, as well as a Satin, and both instruments were fine but not particularly standout quality....

I've had my eye on a Trad Pro V for a while and these went up. $2,500 was regular in-store price on the Trad Pro V. I also saw at least two of these under $2k during the holiday sale.
