G14 is way more popular so you will see more experiences both good and bad. Lenovo isn’t immune from QC issues either. Look up the crooked lids on the Pro 7i’s.

I paid 850 for the 4060 variant...4070 doesn't seem to be a huge jump in performance. The SSD is meh. They're not that pricey anymore.

The CPU is the same in both of the 4060 and 4070 version. Only difference besides the GPU is 512GB SSD in the 4060 version vs 1GB SSD in the 4070 version of the G14.

this deal is not good considering the 4060 version of this was just on sale for $1050 new/$872 open box, all last week. going from a 4060 to a 4070 for over a 30% increase in price is insane

Yes. On the 4000 generation mobile chips getting any more than that requires a 4080 or 4090.
