meh, non-sliders are very cheap and easy to use. they are a good way to get started; after that get a small table saw for when you need some slide cutting. most of us will not need a better saw...

I have the older Hitachi version. It's been really great, but because of the weirdly shaped base and insert, you can't easily mount it to a table or clamp to it or easily add a zero clearance insert.

Great saw but the laser is a gimmick.
No serious person would use the laser to cut anything precise. It might be helpful for “rough cuts” otherwise it’s useless.
