They said they would issue the refund when the laptop got back to them, as if it was a return. (even though they were the one to do the recall)
I may just dispute it on my card.

They had apparently started issuing recalls of the ones they did not cancel/hold outright. Those that lived close to shipping point got theirs it appears. It had nothing to do with the phone call...
