That's an 18gbps cable this is 48gbps so is very much not the same cable.

Agreed. Two things in monoprice's favor. Monoprice's lifetime warranty, plus the Amazon ones, while a good price, are not certified 2.1. Though, I will say it's been maybe 60/40 hit or miss with that...
