I’m in New Jersey and have not had any issues with mold and have not had to drill a drain hole. If you are in a humid climate think twice about this unit as mold will be a problem.

That's a good question! I just went and measured the widths, and they are close, but it appears that the 8ks are ~.5 inch smaller. Hope that helps!
