Yes. So the Kobalt set in question is 277 pieces with 120 being bits and allen keys. This set is 270 pieces with 136 being bits.

Does Kobalt generally have less filler? I don't need extra torx bits and such but a kit with wobble extensions and essential torx or the like would be cool

Kind of true. Over half of this set is crappy bits and cheap allen keys. It is not a bad deal. IMHO $199 is crazy high, $80 is a good price, $40 is a Slickdeal. I picked up the Lowe’s Kobalt 277...

If all you want is sockets, then buy a socket set instead. Home Depot has dozens of different sets to choose from so you should be able to find something that meets your particular needs.
