If your receiver doesn't pass high refresh what you're doing makes the most sense. Plug to TV and send sound back through the earc.

What's your crossover set for? Also you'd be surprised how much music doesn't actually need a sub if your floorstanders can go down to 40 or 50hz.

Yes $1500 for the 4800 is pretty good also. I went with the 3800 since I use my AVR as a pre pro and the 4800 didn’t add much for the extra cost.

Based on how many went “coming soon” soon after, my guess is yes. They probably didn’t have many either. The 3800 is a lot of value for that price imo.
