It's worth noting that there are many reports of Roams failing just out of warranty. We have a bunch in my family (all less than 3 years old) and about half of them have died.

Don't have a Sam's near me, but just chiming in here.
The issue with the speaker turning into a brick after a year (i.e. beyond the warranty period) is real enough that there are lots of reports...
