I've owned alyx since launch and have yet to complete. It's the most terrifying VR game I've ever played. The realistic reloading really induces panic.

Nope. I like action - and I like to play while listening to other things. Watching artificial digital images talk in groups is a waste of time. I'll watch a film with real people if I want a story.

I have to offer a slight agreement here - the massive story bloat in a lot of modern games - where you spend almost as much time watching as playing - does sort of go against the idea of a “game”...

I know there are mods out there but it's not going to be the same game without vr. If you have a good enough computer to support vr, I'd recommend picking up a headset when you have time to play...

It sounds like you just don't have the attention anymore for story building. That's fine and all, but it's less of a reflection of the game / devs and more of a reflection of your taste.
