The catch is the PRO uses the 5ghz bands that were just unlocked in the last 12 months i think it was by the FCC for use for wifi. It makes the 5ghz signals almost as good as the 6Ghz with less...

Because it's still better to wire things up when possible even if you have nice WIFI. Even with the high theoretical speeds for these wifi devices GB Ethernet is still probably going to be faster and...

Unless you test speed next to router, you won't see the difference. 5Ghz AC is fast enough, the problem for most people is range, and 6E won't help on that at all.

Happy with the RT-86U Pro and GT-AX6000 I setup in mesh config. The wifi speed close to it exceed my 1.2gbps internet and 500mbit in the poor spots and it's 100-300 mbps even hundreds of feet away...

I had this router, it has pretty good range and speeds but I did have random drops. One day it even just stopped broadcasting WiFi, just randomly stopped working and all devices were disconnected....

I have the RT-AX82U. To answer you question, it depends. Range, do you have trouble with range? Connections problems? Speed problems? Do you use Asus aimesh? Do you want or need 6GHz band?

I was commenting the post which meant to use one of the band for node to node. If you can wire mesh nodes, then you don't need 2nd 5Ghz band. In theory, GT-AX6000 and AX88U Pro are better routers...
