I bought this a couple yrears ago for about $550. It's been great for the price, but the veneer is mindi wood, which only has a janka hardness of 1000. My children have beat it up quite a bit.

From my experience, the fabric is easy to work with. I have a hoover carpet cleaner, and it does the job pretty easily for me for the tough ones, and for minor stains, a wet towel does the trick......
