How about one of those magnetic magsafe with a metal plate or ring holders? You just gave me an idea. I have plenty of old magnets and i can mount them using 3M double sided strong adhesive tape....

I use the little square that came with it. It's a little 4x4 clear adhesive piece. Then attached the camera adhesive piece to that. I'm in Carson City so I'm close to your heat level!
